Who would need sleep when through the night the light has its arms open

2010, Oilpastel
68 x 183 cm
Art Center of Olympic Fine Arts, Peking, China

In this painting I have in my heart of hearts been in the northern midsummer night when the sun does not set and one does not go to sleep but stays awake being one with the nature. The name of the painting is a line of a poem by a finnish poet, Helinä Siikala.
